Ukrainian inventors to receive US$3.6 mln in grants in 2019 – Kubiv

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv has announced that the ministry will award UAH 100 million (US$3.6 million) in grants to Ukrainian inventors in 2019.

"For the first time in Ukraine's history, we will award grants to inventors. About UAH 100 million will be allocated in 2019," he said at a press conference on December 20.

The official sees the creation of the National Inventors Incentives Fund as the ministry's most tangible achievement.

According to Kubiv, the government will support inventors of utility models and industrial prototypes.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Economic Development and Trade Ministry in July developed a new system of incentives for inventors under which their projects are selected on a competitive basis for further support by the state and their commercial implementation.
