The national budget for 2019 provides for UAH 417.4 billion ($15.2 billion) in servicing and repayment of public debt, the Ukrainian Finance Ministry's press service said.

"At the same time, the first debt repayments will be handled immediately from the first banking day of the new year, and the Finance Ministry is ready to finance them," the report said.

In 2018, the country's borrowing totaled UAH 277 billion ($10.1 billion), including UAH 103 billion ($3.8 billion) in foreign loans and UAH 174 billion ($6.3 billion) in domestic borrowings, it said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the balance of funds on the Treasury's single account was estimated at UAH 5.099 billion ($185.8 million) as of January 1, 2018, which was 64.3% down from the figure as of January 1, 2017.

The balance of funds on the single treasury account is not a constant value. It is subject to increases due to revenues from taxes and other mandatory payments to the state and local budgets and decreases amid budget spending peaks.
