Production of metal-roll increased by 1%, and cast iron – by 2%.
In 2018, steel production in Ukraine decreased by 2% compared with 2017, to 21.06 million tonnes, according to operational data, as reported by the Steelmakers' Association, Ukrmetalurgprom.
According to the organization, production of general metal-roll for the said period increased by 1%, to 18.45 million tonnes, smelting cast iron increased by 2% to 20.53 million tonnes.
As UNIAN reported earlier, in 2017, steel production in Ukraine was down by 12%, to 21.3 million tonnes. Production of metal-roll dropped by 14%, to 18.4 million tonnes, while cast iron smelting slid by 15%, to 20 million tonnes.
