The country seeks to replace obsolete Soviet-made models.
Ukraine has been developing a modern anti-aircraft missile system to replace obsolete Soviet models, according to the press service of the Ministry of Defense, citing the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Chief of the anti-aircraft missile forces command of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Stavskiy, said Ukraine is constantly enhancing combat capabilities of its anti-aircraft missile forces.

"This year, the units will receive more reconstructed and modernized complexes of various modifications, such as S-300, S-125, and Buk," he said.
Stavskiy said "work continues at defense enterprises to create own air defense systems, which would replace obsolete Soviet-made weapons."
