The leaders of the European Council, the European Commission and the European Parliament have praised the progress in Ukraine’s implementation of the program for receiving the second tranche of macro-financial assistance from the EU worth EUR 500 million.
That's according to Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oksana Markarova, who referred to the results of the meeting of the Ukrainian delegation headed by President Petro Poroshenko with European colleagues in Brussels.
“European colleagues highly appreciated the progress in the implementation of the program required for the second tranche of macro-financial assistance, and also confirmed their readiness to provide investment and credit support to the projects in the Azov region,” Markarova wrote on Facebook.

She stressed that the upcoming elections in Ukraine did not for a moment stop the daily work of the team.
As reported by UNIAN, the European Council in June 2018 finally approved the fourth program of macro-financial assistance for Ukraine in the amount of 1 billion euros.
In December, the European Commission provided Ukraine with the first tranche of macro-financial assistance in the amount of EUR 500 million in the form of a loan at an interest rate of 1.25% per annum due in April 2033.
On March 15, the Ministry of Finance reported that the EU assessment mission in Ukraine is working on providing our country with the second tranche of macro-financial assistance in the amount of EUR 500 million, predicting that these funds will be received no earlier than April.
