Ukraine due to repay US$15.66 bln on gross foreign debt in 2019

Interest payments alone are estimated at US$3.7 billion.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) says Ukraine is due to repay US$15.655 billion on gross foreign debt in 2019.

Of the amount, US$11.951 billion is repayment on principal debt and US$3.703 billion is interest payment, the NBU said.

In particular, debt payments in the government sector are US$5.016 billion, the central bank's debts total $842 million, debts of other depository institutions (commercial banks) are US$1.888 billion. Due payments in other sectors are estimated at US$6.401 billion, direct investment (inter-firm debt) amounts to US$1.568 billion.

Debt repayment due in the first quarter totals US$5.609 billion, that in the second amounts to US$3.608 billion, in the third quarter to US$3.919 billion, and in the fourth quarter to US$2.519 billion.

Payments to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will total US$1.945 billion, including US$600 million in the first quarter, US$601 million in the second quarter, US$657 million in the third quarter, and US$87 million in the fourth quarter.

As UNIAN reported, Ukraine's gross external debt in 2018 shrank by 0.6%, or US$744 million, to US$114.707 billion.
