Ukraine sees 16% drop in sales of new commercial vehicles in Jan-April

Some 858 new commercial vehicles were sold in April 2019 alone.

Sales of new commercial vehicles in Ukraine in January-April 2019 dropped by 16% year-over-year (y-o-y), to 3,398 vehicles.

Some 858 new commercial vehicles were sold in April 2019 alone, which was 28% down y-o-y, the Ukrautoprom association's press service said.

Renault with 220 vehicles sold in April alone ranked first, having demonstrated a 15% increase in sales of new commercial vehicles y-o-y.

Fiat was second with 129 vehicles sold, which was a third more than in April 2018.

The Mercedes-Benz brand whose sales in April 2019 reached 60 vehicles (62% up y-o-y) became third in terms of sales of new commercial vehicles.

Ford ranked fourth with 54 vehicles sold, having demonstrated a 66% drop in sales against April 2018.

The Volkswagen brand whose sales in the fourth month of 2019 totaled 50 vehicles (34% down y-o-y) joined the top five leaders in terms of sales of new commercial vehicles in Ukraine.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the country's sales of new commercial vehicles in 2018 grew by 20% from 2017, to 51,500 units, according to Ukrautoprom.
