Ukraine's state debt grows to US$79.8 bln in Jan-April

Ukraine's state and government-guaranteed debt grew by 1.9%, or US$1.51 billion, in January-April of 2019, to $79.82 billion in the U.S. dollar equivalent.

The country's debt in the hryvnia equivalent shrank by 2%, or $43.62 billion, to UAH 2.125 trillion, Ukraine's Finance Ministry said on its website.

State debt in April 2019 alone rose by 1.3%, or $1.03 billion, in the dollar equivalent, whereas it shrank by 1%, or UAH 22.22 billion in the hryvnia equivalent.

UNIAN memo. Ukraine's state and government-guaranteed debt in 2018 rose by 2.6%, or US$2.02 billion, to US$78.32 billion in the U.S. dollar equivalent.

The debt in the hryvnia equivalent increased by 1.3%, or UAH 26.94 billion, to UAH 2.169 trillion last year.

Ukraine's debt-to-GDP ratio decreased to 62.7% in 2018 from 71.8% in 2017.
