FDI in Ukraine in Q3 grows by 0.1%, to almost US$33 bln – statistics

The largest amounts of investment came from Russia, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.

Foreign direct investment in the economy of Ukraine (non-residents' equity capital) in January-March 2019 (Q3) increased by $45.5 million, or 0.1%, to US$32.918 billion.

New investment made in Ukraine during the period under review amounted to US$587.6 million, while disinvestment was estimated at US$496.5 million, according to the website of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine. Reassessment was negative and was estimated at US$45.6 million.

The largest investment came from Russia (US$97.9 million), the Netherlands (US$72.9 million), Switzerland (US$48.2 million). The largest outflows of investment were funneled into such countries as Hungary (US$278.8 million), the United Kingdom (US$37.9 million), Luxembourg (US$11.6 million).

As UNIAN reported, the National Bank of Ukraine estimated foreign direct investment in Ukraine's economy in the first quarter of 2019 at US$0.8 billion.
