NBU weakens official forex rate to UAH 26.95 to dollar for June 4

The Central Bank set the following official exchange rates of the hryvnia against leading foreign currencies for June 4: US$100 costs UAH 2,695.4834, EUR 100 costs UAH 3,014.8982.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on Monday evening weakened the official hryvnia exchange rate by 10 kopiykas, bringing the national currency to UAH 26.95 to the dollar.

The Central Bank set the following official exchange rates of the hryvnia against leading foreign currencies for June 4:

US$100 costs UAH 2,695.4834 (UAH 2,685.4695 as of June 3);

EUR 100 costs UAH 3,014.8982 (UAH 2,994.5670 as of June 3);

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's national currency, the hryvnia, in May 2019 weakened by 1.4% against the U.S. dollar, to UAH 26.85 at the official rate of the National Bank of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian hryvnia against the euro became weaker by 1.5%, to UAH 29.95 over the period under review.

In January-May 2019, the national currency strengthened by 3% against the dollar and by 5.6% against the euro.

The national budget of Ukraine for 2019 is based on the forecast rate set at UAH 29.4 to the dollar by the end of 2019.

According to the expert consensus forecast compiled by UNIAN, the hryvnia exchange rate against the U.S. dollar at the end of 2019 is expected at UAH 30.

The hryvnia's historic low against the U.S. dollar was registered at UAH 30.01 in February 2015.
