Ukraine sees US$294 mln budget surplus in Jan-May

The country's consolidated budget over the period under review saw a surplus of US$1.3 billion.

The State Treasury Service of Ukraine says the surplus of Ukraine's national budget in January-May 2019 was estimated at UAH 7.7 billion, or US$294 million, which was almost UAH 1 billion (US$38.2 million) down from the figure released by the Finance Ministry in early June.

The surplus of the country's consolidated budget over the period under review was UAH 33.9 billion (US$1.3 billion), the Treasury Service said.

The deficit of Ukraine's national budget in January-May 2018 stood at UAH 9.2 billion (US$351.3 million), while the surplus of the consolidated budget was UAH 14.6 billion (US$557.5 million), it said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in January-May 2019, the national budget revenue totaled UAH 426.684 billion (US$16.3 billion), which was 2%, or UAH 8.545 billion (US$326.3 million) down on the planned indicator.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) in May 2019 channeled UAH 17.3 billion (US$660.6 million) into the national budget from its income for 2018. That is, taking into account UAH 47.6 billion (US$1.8 billion) sent to the budget in April, the regulator transferred all due payments to the budget.
