Ukrainian farmers thresh over 6 mln tonnes of grain as of July 2

Ukrainian agrarians threshed 6.1 million tonnes of early grains from 1.9 million hectares as of July 2, 2019.

In particular, the farmers threshed 3.4 million tonnes of winter wheat from an area of 1 million hectares (15% of the target), 2.5 million tonnes of barley from 750,000 hectares (30%), and 267,000 tonnes of peas from 128,000 hectares (45%), the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry's press service said on July 3.

In addition, Ukrainian farmers continue to harvest rapeseed, having collected 539,000 tonnes of this product from an area of 277,000 hectares (21% of the target).

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian farmers on May 2 completed a campaign to sow early spring crops on 2.1 million hectares.

In 2018, Ukraine harvested a record high yield of grains, having threshed 70.1 million tonnes.
