Adobe confirmed the pirated font had been used on the new banknote.
The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) says it is checking Ukrainian designers' reports on the use of an unlicensed font on newly presented UAH 1,000 banknotes.

"The National Bank of Ukraine is verifying the information distributed by the media regarding the likely use of an unlicensed font on the 1,000-hryvnia note and examining the situation with involvement of experts from the Banknote Printing and Minting Works and NBU lawyers," the regulator's press service told UNIAN on July 9.
The National Bank says it will inform the public about the results as soon as detailed information is available.
As UNIAN reported, Ukrainian graphic designer Bohdan Hdal earlier wrote on Facebook that NBU designers had used a pirated font on a new UAH 1,000 banknote, which violates the copyright of the Adobe company that developed the original font.
Adobe confirmed the fact of the use of the pirated font on the new banknote, adding that to solve the problem, it is necessary to create completely new printing forms with a licensed font.
UNIAN memo. From October 25, 2019, the National Bank will put into circulation a brand new banknote worth UAH 1,000, which differs markedly from other banknotes in size and color.
The banknote has both paper-based and innovative printed security features, including the window thread and the SPARK OVI element with the kinematic effect.
The NBU plans to complete the current series of banknotes and coins with issuance of the upgraded 50- and 200-hryvnia banknotes.
The central bank most recently put a new denomination in circulation was in 2006. It was a 500-hryvnia banknote.
