Ukraine wants to review trade terms with EU

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman says Ukraine will have an opportunity next year to review the terms of trade with the European Union, adding that the Cabinet is now forming its proposals for respective talks.

"We have an agreement on a [deep and comprehensive] free trade area [DCFTA]. In 2018, we reviewed and increased quotas for the supply of Ukrainian products. But in 2020, we will have an opportunity to review the terms of trade. We are completely ready to prepare very high-quality proposals for the European Union and to expand the horizon and volume of our trade," he told a Ukrainian TV channel on July 9.

Today, Ukrainian shipments to the European Union market account for 43% of the country's exports, the official added.

UNIAN memo. In 2014, the European Union and Ukraine signed the Association Agreement, which marked the beginning of a new period in relations between the EU and Ukraine.
