Deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods, services 13% up in H1 2019

The deficit of foreign trade in commodities over the period under review grew by 22%, to $5.256 billion.

The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in January-June 2019 (H1) was estimated at US$4.358 billion, which was US$495 million, or 13%, up from the deficit reported year-over-year (y-o-y).

The deficit of foreign trade in commodities over the period under review grew by 22%, to $5.256 billion, while the surplus of foreign trade almost doubled, to $898 million, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.

As UNIAN reported earlier, citing the National Bank of Ukraine, the deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in 2018 totaled $11.492 billion, which was 32.9% up from the deficit posted in 2017.

The State Statistics Service in turn estimated the deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in 2018 at $5.826 billion, which was 2.3 times up against the deficit recorded in 2017.
