NBU's currency purchases almost double last week

Over the period under review, the central bank sold US$16.8 million at a single rate.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) bought US$510 million on the interbank forex market last week (from July 29 to August 4, 2019) to replenish the country's international reserves, which was 1.95 times up against the previous week.

Over the period under review, the central bank sold US$16.8 million at a single rate, according to the regulator's press service.

Since the beginning of the year, the NBU has bought US$2.91 billion on the interbank forex market to replenish the reserves, while selling a mere US$248.2 million.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the National Bank in July 2019 bought US$1.3 billion on the interbank forex market to replenish the country's international reserves.
