Net profit from sales of produce by enterprises that are part of the state-run Ukroboronprom military-industrial concern in 2018 grew by 32% against 2017, to UAH 37.6 billion (US$1.5 billion).
"For example, production of high-precision weapons and ammunition, in terms of net gain, rose from UAH 2.7 billion [$105.5 million] to UAH 5.8 billion [$226.7 million]. Nnet profit of enterprises that produce radar systems and engaged in radio communications and special instrument-making industries grew from UAH 2.3 billion [$89.9 million] to UAH 3.4 billion [$132.9 million], while those of armored industry – from UAH 5 billion [$195.4 million] to UAH 6.44 billion [$251.7 million]," the concern's press service said on August 6.

At the same time, production costs over the period under review increased by 44% on average against 2017.
"Two components account for the largest percentage of production costs, that is raw and basic materials, components, and semi-finished products (31.5% in 2018), as well as repairs, equipment maintenance and general manufacturing expenses (49% in 2018)," the report said.
Ukroboronprom's enterprises paid UAH 6.8 billion ($265.7 million) in taxes and fees in 2018, the press service added.
