Ukraine's state-owned Malyshev Plant conducted another test of the modernized BTR-50 armored personnel carrier, where the combat vehicle successfully crossed the water barrier, as reported by Ukroboronprom.
The vehicle also received a five-speed gearbox with planetary rotation mechanisms and modified chassis components," Ukroboronprom noted.
The upgraded BTR-50 has already successfully passed sea trials on rough terrain and live fire tests, the state concern added.

According to Plant CEO Oleksandr Chursin, this model is not in service in Ukraine, while it is widely used in many armies across the world, especially in Asian and African regions.
Therefore, the company can offer the model to foreign customers.
