The company has already sold its first imported volumes of electricity on the day-ahead and balancing energy markets.
Director of Integrated Gas Division at NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Favorov says Naftogaz of Ukraine GSC (Gas Supply Company) has started importing electricity from Belarus and selling it on the Ukrainian market.

"Naftogaz Group uses every opportunity to offer its customers energy products on the best conditions. In particular, we are diversifying electricity purchases and we have already begun importing it under a long-term contract with Belenergo," the company's press service quoted Favorov as saying on September 20.
It is noted that the company has already sold its first imported volumes of electricity on the day-ahead and balancing energy markets.
Naftogaz of Ukraine GSC supplies gas and electricity across Ukraine, the press service added.
As UNIAN reported earlier, a new electricity market was launched in Ukraine on July 1 under the Electricity Market Law, the draft of which was passed by the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, in April 2017.

Naftogaz develops oil and gas fields, produces crude oil and natural gas. Its core business is also transportation and trade in fuel through its own network of filling stations.
In September 2018, NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine created three subsidiaries for supplying gas directly to the industry, municipal heating companies and households in circumvention of regional gas distribution companies, most of which belong to Ukrainian businessman Dmytro Firtash
Naftogaz of Ukraine GSC (Gas Supply Company) will supply gas to households, Naftogaz Heat GSC will deliver gas to local heat suppliers, and Naftogaz Trading GSC to commercial customers.
