Deputy Prime Minister for Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov has said the government is working on the launch of a digital driver's license and student ID card project.
"For example, we are currently working on the launch of digital driver's licenses and student ID cards. And we'll soon launch an experiment where people can take digital documents with them instead of plastic ones and no one will fine them," he said in an interview with the Ukrayinska Pravda online newspaper.

It is noted it will be an application in a smartphone with a driver's license and a QR code embedded.
According to Fedorov, this is much more convenient since "30% of police officers have tablets." They can scan the QR code and ID the driver in their database.
In villages where there are no tablets, all the same, police officers get into their patrol cars and call the police office to check the ID, he said.
