Ukraine's state debt declines to US$82 bln in Aug

Ukraine's state and government-guaranteed debt in dollar terms declined by US$0.5 billion, or 0.6%, in August 2019, to US$81.92 billion.

As the Finance Ministry said on its website, the volume of public debt in the hryvnia equivalent for the period under review decreased by UAH 0.52 billion, or 0.03%, to UAH 2.067 trillion.

Since the beginning of the year, in January-August, the country's public debt grew by 4.6% in dollar terms, but at the same time it decreased by 4.7% in hryvnia terms.

UNIAN memo. Ukraine's state and government-guaranteed debt in 2018 increased in dollar terms by US$2.02 billion, or 2.6%, to US$78.32 billion.

In the hryvnia equivalent, the country's public debt for this period increased by UAH 26.94 billion, or 1.3%, to UAH 2.169 trillion.

The debt-to-GDP ratio in 2018 fell to about 62.7%, from 71.8% in 2017.
