"We, as a government, do not plan to raise taxes. This is the wrong way. The state should not increase the amount of resources that it passes through itself. On the contrary, it should create such incentives for businesses and for citizens so that they are not afraid to deal with the state, so that they invest in their businesses, developing them and Ukraine," he told a Ukrainian TV channel.

As UNIAN reported earlier, presenting the draft national budget for 2020, the prime minister announced plans to collect smaller amounts of taxes, but spend them more efficiently.

Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers plans to launch a full-fledged tax reform in the spring of 2020.

Ukraine's government decided to split the State Fiscal Service into two agencies – the tax service and the customs. In August 2019, the government tasked the State Tax Service to administer taxes instead of the State Fiscal Service, thus having introduced the independent tax authority. The work to launch the Customs Service is still under way.
