Ukraine's foreign reserves remain at $21.4 bln

Ukraine's international reserves as of Nov 1 amounted to $21.4 billion, which corresponds to the figure reported in the previous month.

Significant amounts of debt payments were offset by external receipts, forex interventions, and reserve management operations, the National Bank reports.

It is noted that over the past month, the government paid $632.3 million on servicing and paying off the country's public debt in foreign currency.

The expenses were partially offset by receipts from international partners, including from the European Commission, worth EUR 262.1 million.

At the same time, the National Bank replenished reserves through the purchase of $193.9 million in foreign currency in the interbank foreign exchange market.

Besides, a positive revaluation of financial instruments in October amounted to $115 million.

It is also reported that the current volume of reserves covers 3.4 months of future imports.

UNIAN memo. As of Oct 1, Ukraine's international reserves amounted to $21.438 billion, which is 3% higher than at year-start.

In October, the central bank improved its forecast for international reserves by the end of 2019 to $22.9 billion from $21.7 billion projected earlier.
