Ukraine's Cabinet proposes equating electronic cigarettes to regular ones

Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk says the Cabinet of Ministers has initiated amendments to legislation to fix the circulation in Ukraine of electronic cigarettes and equate them to regular tobacco products.

"We are equating electronic cigarettes and the latest [heat-not-burn] tobacco products to other tobacco goods. The turnover of such cigarettes should be regulated in line with Ukraine's legislation. We are extending advertising restrictions to electronic cigarettes and the latest tobacco products. We are initiating a ban on smoking such cigarettes in public areas," he said on his Telegram channel on December 24.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in October, MP Vladlen Nekliudov (Servant of the People Party) submitted to parliament a bill to introduce an excise tax on nicotine-containing liquids for electronic cigarettes.
