Ukraine exports Christmas tree ornaments to 27 countries

New markets were opened in Austria, Kazakhstan, Croatia, Serbia, and Cayman Islands.

Ukraine this year exported Christmas ornaments to 27 countries, with the largest market being the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Belarus, and Switzerland, according to Deputy Minister for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture, Trade Envoy Taras Kachka.

Over the 10 months of 2019, supplies of Ukrainian Christmas ornaments were worth $7.5 million, which is 7.7% more year-on-year, Europeiska Pravda reports.

"The largest importer of Ukrainian Christmas-tree decorations is the Netherlands," Kachka wrote on Facebook, adding that the country's market accounts for 34.1% of total exports and 56.2% of EU exports.

Over the past years, the Netherlands has remained Ukraine's main market for Christmas ornaments.

"Other popular export destinations for Christmas tree ornaments are Poland, Germany, Belarus, and Switzerland," the deputy minister added.

Deliveries over the 10 months of 2019 increased significantly compared against the previous year to Latvia (2.9 times), Georgia (2.4 times), Moldova (2.3 times), Romania (2.1 times) ), the USA (2.1 times), and Italy (1.9 times).

New markets were opened in Austria, Kazakhstan, Croatia, Serbia, and Cayman Islands.
