A Ukrainian producer has developed an anti-landmine drone with centimeter-level accuracy.
The Ukrainian enterprise, in partnership with a foreign firm, developed special magnetometric sensors for drones to detect unexploded ordnance, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's press service said.

"The sensors are mounted on a quadcopter, which flies within the designated area at an altitude of 5-10 meters and determines not only the location of explosive objects, but also traces their contours," it said.
Possibilities of using a drone for mine clearance were determined by specialists from the State Research Institute for Testing and Certification of Arms and Military Equipment.
During tests, a drone equipped with the said sensors correctly identified 82mm and 120mm landmines with centimeter-level accuracy, head of the department for scientific research and testing of weapons and military equipment of the Air Force Yuriy Kamak said.
What is more, they are capable of doing this both during daytime and at night. "The information they gather can be transmitted both in real time and upon returning from a flight mission, that is, using such information, the operator draws up a map of areas with land mines," the press service said.
The use of such unmanned aerial vehicles reduces time spent on reconnaissance, compared with the work of a landmine specialist using robotic equipment, it said. Besides, it ensures higher accuracy in identifying dangerous objects and safeguards personnel against unnecessary risks.
