Ukraine will study Norway's experience in energy efficiency and development of electric vehicle infrastructure.
Ukraine and Norway will strengthen cooperation in the energy sector, the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine said following a meeting with the Norwegian side.
It is reported that Ukraine's Ambassador to Norway, Viacheslav Yatsiuk, noted significant progress made in implementing the Ukrainian-Norwegian initiative to boost energy efficiency, and called on the Norwegian government to further promote among Norwegian companies the investment opportunities of the Ukrainian energy sector, according to the ministry's press service.
Secretary of State Odd Emil Ingebrigtsen reiterated commitment of the Norwegian government to facilitate the effective implementation of energy agreements between Ukraine and Norway, noting the significant potential for bilateral cooperation in this area.

"The Norwegian official expressed willingness to exchange information on effective energy efficiency solutions, in particular on the introduction of measures at the state level to stimulate energy efficiency, the use of statistical data in political decision-making in the field of energy efficiency, the construction of fast charging stations for e-vehicles, and on requirements for companies implementing the relevant projects," the ministry said.
Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine Oleksiy Ryabchyn expressed interest in studying Norway's best experiences in the field of energy efficiency, the development of electric vehicles, and the possibilities of cooperation between the state and businesses on the research and innovation in the energy sector. In this context, special attention was paid to learning about the operations of the Norwegian state-owned Enova, set up by the Norwegian government in order to promote the use of innovative technology and products that minimize environmental impact.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the Norwegian government will provide Ukraine with EUR 20 million in loan funds for the full energy modernization of kindergartens and schools, which will flow into Ukraine through the Northern Environmental Finance Corporation (NEFCO).
