Director General of state-run Ukroboronprom Aivaras Abromavicius says that Ukraine's state defense order in 2021 will hit a record high amount set at UAH 30 billion, or US$1.22 billion.
"There are types of equipment that are too expensive for Ukraine. But the state defense order is growing from year to year, and I would like to note that it will be a record high next year," he said on a TV channel. "If this year it is estimated at UAH 19 billion [US$772.7 million] plus about UAH 3 billion [US$122 million] in government guarantees, totaling UAH 22 billion [US$894.7 million]. Next year, it will be 20 plus 10, that is, UAH 30 billion."

As UNIAN reported, after a meeting of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), its secretary, Oleksiy Danilov, said on February 18 that the state on order in 2020 would increase by 16% from 2019, to over US$1 billion.
He said that the NSDC had also decided on the main indicators of the state defense order for 2020, 2021, and 2022. Also, Danilov refuted speculations that the new defense order did not provide for financing missile programs.
