Ukraine's Defense Ministry plans to buy about 3,000 missile complexes and supplies worth over UAH 2.4 billion, or US$98 million, in 2020, taking into account state guarantees.

Spending under the 2020 missile program is UAH 300 million, or US$12.25 million, up on 2019, the ministry's media liaison office said.

In particular, it is planned to complete the development and conduct final tests of the "Neptun" ("Neptune") coastal anti-ship missile complex and the "Vilkha" ("Alder") artillery rocket system and ensure their full funding in 2020.

Their final tests will be followed by purchases of serial samples of these types of missiles.

Ukraine's Defense Ministry said that the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on February 18, 2020, adopted the state defense order for 2020, which provides measures estimated at UAH 21.25 billion, or US$868 million, in the interests of the Defense Ministry and in line of the needs identified by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
