Government to continue cooperation with IMF, other lenders – PM

Denys Shmyhal has assured that the government is ready to move more actively towards reform and integration with the European Union.

The new Cabinet will pursue its balanced fiscal policy, as well as cooperation with the IMF and other lenders of Ukraine, says newly appointed Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

"A change of government means that we want even better and quicker reforms in Ukraine. The government will continue its balanced fiscal policy and constructive cooperation with the International Monetary Fund and other lenders of Ukraine. Achieving long-term welfare of citizens and sustainable economic growth is our common goal," Shmyhal wrote on Facebook.

The prime minister has also assured the public that the government is ready to address new challenges and move more actively towards reform and integration with the European Union.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on March 4, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Denys Shmyhal to the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine.

Also, Parliament approved the new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Negotiations with the IMF on the new extended fund facility (worth $5.5 billion) for Ukraine are underway.
