"From tomorrow, only Boryspil International Airport will remain operating in Ukraine. From 12:00 on March 24, passengers will also be barred from air travel for tourism. I apologize for the inconvenience, but this is a necessary measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus," the minister wrote on Facebook.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers, in connection with the spread of coronavirus, decided to introduce quarantine in Ukraine from March 12 to April 3, and also introduced a ban on railway, air and bus intercity and interregional passenger traffic, as well as on subway traffic, from March 18.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on March 18 allocated an equivalent of $4.16 million from the state budget reserve fund to ensure the return of about 35,500 Ukrainians stranded abroad amid global border lockdowns.

At the Boryspil airport, a previously closed Terminal B was re-opened on March 22 to service arrivals. Outbound flights are still operated from Terminal F.

Operations in main Terminal D were suspended from March 18.
