Ukraine has lost five seaports and about 8% of the revenue generated by the country's port industry as a result of the annexation of Crimea, Deputy Infrastructure Minister Yuriy Vaskov said at a ministry board meeting on Thursday.
"We've lost five ports, about 8% of the revenue generated by the industry, and [fallen short of] 10% of revenue from cargo handling," he said.
At the same time, he said, the Infrastructure Ministry is currently working to return some Crimean-stationed vessels seized by Russia.
Earlier, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk asked the Infrastructure Ministry to speed up the return of the vessels and conduct a marine tribunal regarding the losses Ukraine has sustained due to the annexation of Crimea.
