The new manager will be tasked with introducing European practices of business administration and will expand industrial cooperation with Western partners.

"Nowadays, our enterprises have reached a new production level, which opens up absolutely new opportunities and creates absolutely new challenges. Therefore enhancing the management team is a timely step. What is more, we've started to more actively look for foreign investors to modernize our enterprises – we need to talk one language with them," Romanov said.

As UNIAN previously reported, Ukroboronprom early in March 2015 was granted access to NATO's Master Catalogue of References for Logistics. The Concern's managers hope this will help the Ukrainian defense industry's enterprises enter the European arms market. In April 2015, Ukroboronprom announced plans for the Ukrainian defense industry to adapt NATO standards in arms production within three years.

UNIAN's memo. State-run Ukroboronprom Concern was established in 2010 to ensure effective operations and management of state-owned business entities that develop, manufacture, sell, repair, modernize and scrap weapons, military and special equipment and ammunition, and participate in the military and technical cooperation. The Concern incorporates over a hundred enterprises of Ukraine's defense industry.
