Residences may cool down to 16°C in winter in case of gas shortages – official

Ukraine’s Ministry Regional Development admits the possibility of reducing the minimum allowed temperature in residencies tduring the heating period in case of gas shortage, according to Deputy Minister Eduard Krugliak.

"It can only be the case when the simply do not have enough gas," said Krugliak at a briefing.

The official added that lowering the minimum temperature to 16°C requires legislative regulation.

Krugliak also noted that in Ukraine, the majority of residences is not properly insulated, therefore the Ministry is to provide funds for general insulation of apartment buildings.
