Hryvnia dramatically strengthens to UAH 21.50 to dollar on interbank market

Hryvnia quotes against the euro have settled at UAH 24.3291/24.6691, while those against the Russian ruble have settled at UAH 0.3044/0.3091.

As UNIAN reported earlier, hryvnia quotations against the dollar on the interbank currency market strengthened to UAH 22.55/22.65 to the dollar by the close of trade on Tuesday, August 25.

Hryvnia quotes against the euro settled at UAH 24.8490/25.9610, while those against the Russian ruble settled at UAH 0.3280/0.3300.

According to the National Bank of Ukraine, the weighted average exchange rate of the hryvnia as of 17:00 on Tuesday was UAH 22.6234 to the dollar, with 513 deals concluded by this time worth a total of $314.90 million.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on Tuesday evening sharply lowered the official hryvnia exchange rate by 53 kopiykas, bringing the national currency to UAH 22.62 to the dollar.

The NBU  set the following official forex rates of the hryvnia against leading foreign currencies for Wednesday, August 26:

$100 – UAH 2,262.3411 (on August 25 it was UAH 2,209.5544);

EUR 100 – UAH 2,603.0497 (on August 25 it was UAH 2,492.5983);

10 RUB – UAH 3.2344 (on August 25 it was UAH 3.2435).
