"In August we were able to raise the additional UAH 2 billion in VAT due to deshadowing and the fight against corruption in the State Fiscal Service,” Yatsenyuk said in a "10 minutes with Prime Minister" TV show.

“This is what used to be regularly stolen by corrupt officials, and it is something that now goes into the state coffers," said the prime minister.

According to Yatsenyuk, in the past nine months, the Cabinet has done a lot to stabilize the financial and economic sector.

"We have written off $4 billion and shifted the due date for payments of the body of the loan four years forward. This gives the opportunity to further shape the "cushion" of economic stability and attract new investments," said the prime minister.

With these steps taken, it became possible to improve social standards, Yatsenyuk said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Yatsenyuk said that the minimum wage and living wage would be increased from September 1.

According to him, the minimum wage, which now stands at UAH 1,218, will amount to UAH 1,1378 from September 1.
