The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has increased the maximum daily withdrawal amount from foreign currency deposits to UAH 20,000 a day, compared to previous UAH 15,000.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UAA1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"The lightening is aimed at restoring confidence in the banking system and the inflow of foreign currency deposits," according to the decision of the NBU No. 581, published on its official website on Thursday.

At the same time, the NBU has extended until December 4 restrictions on the sale of spot currency up to UAH 3,000 a day per customer, as well as extended restrictions on the issuance of spot hryvnia through cash offices and cash machines up to UAH 300,000 per day.

As UNIAN reported earlier, after the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) switched from the fixed exchange rate in 2014 to the flexible system (including two months in 2015), the hryvnia has lost its value against the benchmark U.S. dollar by 3.8 times and hit a historic new low of UAH 30.01 per dollar.

It should be noted that after the introduction of the NBU restrictions and the disbursement of the first tranche by the International Monetary Fund under a new cooperation program with Ukraine, the hryvnia strengthened in less than two weeks with the exchange rate fluctuating within a range of UAH 20.5-23.5 per U.S. dollar in the past six months.
