Ex-chief of SFGCU suspected of spying for China / 24tv.ua
Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food has appealed to the Security Service of Ukraine with the request to investigate into the activities of former Chairman of the Board of the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine (SFGCU) Oleksandr Lavrynchuk, RBC-Ukraine has reported, with reference to a copy of the relevant letter.
According to the appeal, Oleksandr Lavrynchuk is now an authorized representative of the China National Machinery Industry Corporation (CCEC) in Ukraine and a participant in talks on the implementation of China's grain contract. At the same time, he led the SFGCU in 2010-2012s; and from October 2014 to January 2015, he worked as chief adviser to the head of the corporation. Accordingly, Oleksandr Lavrynchuk has full information about the economic state of the SFGCU, its organizational structure, the state of assets, problematic issues, etc.
In this regard, his appointment as representative of the CCEC raises "legitimate concerns."
"This may indicate a possible intentional damage to the national interests of Ukraine. The Chinese side could obtain this information from Lavrynchuk and use it for further pressure on the Ukrainian side during the talks on terms of the General and Loan agreements that would substantially weaken the bargaining position of the PJSC SFGCU," the report says.
