Dniproavia, the Ukrainian airline headquartered in the city of Dnipropetrovsk, has received an official notification from the Federal Air Transport Agency of the Russian Federation banning flights to Russian cities from October 25, 2015.
The Ukrainian company is said to be preparing a request to the Russian aviation authorities urging them to reconsider their decision, as, according to the company, it has not violated the agreement on air traffic between Ukraine and Russia, in contrast to the Russian carriers that continued flying to Simferopol, despite the ban of the Ukrainian aviation authorities.
Earlier, a similar notification about ban of flights was also sent to Ukraine's major carrier Ukraine International Airlines. Another regional airline from Ukraine, YanAir, has stopped selling tickets for flights to Moscow.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the Russian Federation responded to Ukraine's move to ban Russian airlines from Ukrainian airspace with retaliatory measures, barring from October 25 the Ukrainian airlines from flying into Russia.
