Sales of new cars in Jan-Sep tumble 60%

Sales of new cars in Ukraine in January-September decreased by 60% year-over-year down to 30,387 vehicles, the press service of Ukravtoprom association reported.

According to the report, in September, sales of new passenger cars compared to September of last year fell by almost 25% - to 4,376 vehicles.

Toyota remains the most popular brand among Ukrainian car owners for the fifth month in a row, with 512 cars sold, which is 47% less than last September.

French Renault took the second position in the market with 392 cars sold (8% more than in the same period of last year).

Ford comes next, increasing its sales by 4% - up to 246 vehicles.

Skoda closes the September Top-5 with a score of 234 cars sold, which is 20% less than September 2014.

At the end of 2014, the volume of sales of new cars in Ukraine has fallen 2.2 times year-over-year – down to 97,020 cars.
