Kyiv-based Mayak plant, which is part of Ukroboronprom defense conglomerate, introduced a new large-caliber sniper rifle, the press service of the state-owned company reported.
"The caliber of a sniper rifle is 12,7x109, barrel length is 1,000 mm. Effective range is up to 1.5 km, and the maximum range is more than 2 km," reads the statement.
The plant is ready to begin production of rifles in the required amount immediately after being put to service in the Ukrainian Army, according to the report.

Plant "Mayak" is part of the "Ukroboronprom" and specializes in manufacturing small arms and their components, as well as upgrades and repairs of military equipment. In addition, the plant specializes in the manufacture of personal and industrial tape recording equipment.
