OSCE says export of coal from occupied Donbas to Russia continues

During the reporting week, the OSCE Observer Mission (OM) continued to observe a high number of trucks, crossing the border in both directions, including intense cargo truck traffic and dumper trucks transporting coal from Ukraine (Luhansk region) to the Russian Federation through the Gukovo check point, according to the Weekly Update from the OSCE OM as of October 27, 2015.

While the majority of the trucks are registered in the Luhansk region, the observer teams frequently observed trucks registered in the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions and occasionally in Zaporizhia region. The observer teams are also said to have observed trucks registered in the Russian Federation and Republic of Belarus that crossed the border, according to a report.

During the reporting week the number of trucks registered in the Republic of Belarus has decreased from 69 to 57. Those trucks were observed crossing the border only at the Donetsk checkpoint.
