Energoatom posts UAH 1.3 bln profit since year start

National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine Energoatom, an operator of all Ukraine's nuclear power plants, posted net profit of UAH 1.301 billion in January-September 2015, against net loss of UAH 3.806 billion during the same period last year, according to the company's report in the information disclosure system of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission.

According to the report, company's net income from product sales in January-September 2015 increased to UAH 23.494 billion year-over-year from UAH 16.553 billion.

UNIAN memo. Ukraine ranks seventh in the world in terms of the installed capacity of its nuclear power generating units. Energoatom operates four nuclear power plants in Ukraine with 15 power generating units, all with VVER-type reactors. Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, operating six power units with a total capacity of 6 GW, is Europe's largest.

Energoatom is the largest electricity producer in Ukraine, accounting for about 50% of the country's overall power output. Energoatom is responsible for the safe operation of all nuclear power plants in the country.
