Ukrainian APCs to be produced in Thailand

Ukraine and Thailand signed an agreement on joint production of armored personnel carriers (APCs), according to the press service of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

The document was signed by the Ukrainian delegation at the international Defense & Security-2015 arms exhibition held in Bangkok. The agreement provides for the localization of production of BTR-3-type APCs in the Kingdom of Thailand.

"Setting up such production not only provides additional financial revenues for Ukraine, but also enables to upgrade the existing capacities for production and modernization of military equipment for our own needs. In addition, it will be an excellent opportunity to strengthen Ukraine's positions in the Asian region," said First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleh Gladkovsky.
