"Grain potential and excess grain [volumes] in Ukraine are quite significant and, fortunately, there has been high demand on the part of net exporters. Ukraine has a significant weight in the global grain market. We are one of the largest producers and suppliers of grain in the world. Ukraine has high grain export potential and investment attractiveness. Moreover, we have opportunities to boost yields and grain production, accordingly. Every year we export about 3 million tonnes of grain to countries such as China, Egypt, Indonesia, Libya, Spain and others," Prykhodko said.

Ukraine's main advantage is that it offers non-GMO products, while grain quality is a key factor in the global grain market.

Therefore, it is necessary to follow the technological process. And this implies high-quality seed, protection methods and fertilizers for plants. We do not offer GMO products for the market. And this, in turn, is a priority for international exporters," the head of the state grain corporation said.

Prykhodko also noted that Ukrainian Food and Grain Corporation would operate at its maximum efficiency if privatized. So far the fact that the corporation is state-run is said to be a limiting factor for the corporation to operate at its full capacity, given Ukraine's significant potential in the global grain market.
