The Cabinet of Ministers has instructed NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy to stop buying Russian gas for the needs of Ukrainian consumers, replacing it with the European fuel, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said at a government meeting on Wednesday.
"The government has also decided to order Naftogaz to stop buying Russian gas. Because the Russians take it wrong: it is not they who do not deliver gas, it is we who do not buy their gas," Yatsenyuk said.
He said the decision was made because "the price offers of our European partners were much better."
