
Consumption of gas by the country's industry was reduced by 24.1% in ten months of 2015, to 9.1 bcm. Households and budget institutions cut consumption by 21.5%, to 9.249 bcm, utility companies and thermal power plants - by 7.2%, to 4.963 bcm.

According to head of Ukrtransgaz Ihor Prokopiv, the decrease in gas consumption is a result of disconnection of the militant-occupied areas in Donbas from the country's energy grid, as well as the decline in industrial output.

Power generation decreased in ten months of 2015 by 13.5% compared to the same period last year, to 129.5 billion kWh.
Nuclear power plants accounted for 56% of energy generation in Ukraine for the reported period, up from 48% during the same period last year, while the share of thermal power plants in energy generation shrank from 42% to 35%.
