Crimea Blackout: approximate damage from energy blockade announced

According to the preliminary assessment by de-facto Crimean authorities, the damage from the energy blockade of the occupied peninsula amounts to RUB 361 million ($ 4.71 million) to date, Kryminform reported.

"As of today, we have RUB 361 million ($ 4.71 million) [in losses]. This figure includes data provided by the Ministry of Industrial Policy, Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Transport. This is the cost incurred by various departments in order to support its work and not to halt the activity of all organizations," said the so-called "prosecutor" of the annexed Crimea, Natalia Poklonskaya.

She stressed that the losses from the blackout of the Crimean enterprises had not been calculated yet. Poklonskaya added that the damage assessment continues, and the total damage may be several times more substantial.
