The claim is part of the arbitration procedure initiated by PGNiG on May 13, 2015 to change the price terms of the long-term gas supply contract of September 25, 1996, the company's press service reported.

It is noted that the steps taken by PGNiG aim to bring the contract in line with the conditions currently prevailing on the European natural gas market.

Because the arbitration proceedings are confidential, PGNiG will not disclose any details about the action or the company’s claims, the statement reads.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Italian-based Saipem requested arbitration proceedings against Gazprom-controlled South Stream Transport B.V. at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris in November 2015.
