Pasishnyk "on leave" until NABU investigation complete

Executive Director of the NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Pasishnyk will not perform his duties during the investigation into the statement by Economy Minister Aivaras Abromavicius, according to the company’s press service.

"In connection with the start of criminal proceedings by NABU [Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau] into the public statement of Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine [Aivaras] Abromavicius, Executive Director of the NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Pasishnyk will not perform his duties until the completion of the above-mentioned proceedings,” reads the statement.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Aivaras Abromavicius was questioned yesterday by the NABU telling the investigators about the forced imposition of Andriy Pasichnyk onto a post of Deputy Economy Minister.

A screenshot of a messenger chat between Abromavicius and Pasishnyk was first published on Monday by MP Serhiy Leshchenko. The screenshot shows that the Naftogaz official told the Economy Minister that the offer to become deputy minister came from Petro Poroshenko’s team, saying it was deputy chief of BPP faction Ihor Kononenko who invited him.

The Minister stressed that a key reason for this move was a conflict with the deputy head of the BPP faction Ihor Kononenko.
